Privacy policy
Effective 25 October 2026
In short: Tedrix keeps your information on your computer. There's no account, no tracking and no advertising, and Velt Enterprises never receives your machines, passwords or files.
This policy covers the Tedrix app for Mac and Windows and this website, tedrix.app. Both are made by Velt Enterprises, a business registered in Jamaica ("we").
What we collect
Nothing through the app. Tedrix has no account, no usage analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising, and it doesn't send us any information about you or how you use it.
What Tedrix stores on your computer
- Your list of machines and their settings: names, addresses, usernames, folders, notes, tunnels and snippets.
- Passwords you choose to save. These are encrypted using your Mac's Keychain or your Windows sign-in before they're written to disk.
- Tedrix's own SSH key, and the identities of machines you've chosen to trust.
This stays on your computer. You can see it with Settings > Open data folder in the app, and remove it by deleting that folder.
Connections Tedrix makes
- To the machines you choose. Tedrix connects directly from your computer to the machines you open, using SSH, file transfer, Telnet, a serial cable, VNC, or Remote Desktop through a helper that you set up and run yourself. We're not in the middle of any of these connections.
- To Tailscale on your own computer, if you use Import from Tailscale, to list your machines.
- To Google, only if you turn on sync. See below.
Optional sync with Google
Sync is off unless you sign in with Google in Tedrix. If you do:
- Tedrix asks Google only for access to its own hidden app folder in your Google Drive. It can't see your other files, your email or anything else in your Google account.
- Before anything leaves your computer, Tedrix encrypts your machines, saved passwords and settings with a sync password that only you know. Google stores a file it can't read, and so would anyone else who got hold of it. We never see it.
- Your Google sign-in is stored on your computer, encrypted the same way as saved passwords.
- You can stop at any time with Settings > Sign out. To delete the synced copy too, open Google Drive, go to Settings > Manage apps, find Tedrix and choose Delete hidden app data.
Google's own privacy policy covers the data Google holds.
This website
tedrix.app doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Downloads are served from GitHub, which processes similar information to deliver the files.
Children
Tedrix is a tool for managing computers and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects what Tedrix does with your information, we'll say so in the app's release notes too.
